Farol da Barra

Um dos mais famosos cartões postais de Salvador, o Farol do Forte de Santo Antônio da Barra foi o primeiro sistema de sinalização náutica a entrar em operação nas Américas. Instalado no Forte Santo Antônio em 1698 após o trágico naufrágio do Galeão Sacramento, o Farol tinha formato quadrangular, e uma lanterna de bronze no topo alimentada por óleo de baleia. Seu formato atual de alvenaria tem 22 metros de altura, e foi inaugurado em 1839. Além do Farol, o Forte de Santo Antônio da Barra também abriga o Museu Náutico da Bahia, que funciona todos os dias das 09:00h às 18:00h. A tarifa de visitação ao Museu Náutico é de R$ 15,00. O Farol da Barra é um dos pontos de parada do Salvador Bus, onde o ônibus permanece por 30 minutos.

Mercado Modelo

Principal Mercado de artesanato de Salvador foi inaugurado em 1912, construído originalmente como centro de abastecimento de mercadorias da Cidade Baixa. Era abastecido por barcos que atravessavam a Bahia de Todos os Santos. O Mercado Modelo foi assolado por alguns incêndios, sendo o mais violento deles registrado em 1° de agosto de 1969, que destruiu completamente o antigo imóvel. Em 1971 o Mercado Modelo passou a ocupar o edifício da antiga Alfândega de Salvador. No local onde funcionava o antigo Mercado, foi construída uma escultura de Mário Cravo júnior, o Monumento à Cidade do Salvador. O Mercado Modelo é o ponto de parada mais longo do roteiro do Salvador Bus. O tempo de permanência é de aproximadamente 2 horas, que podem ser aproveitadas nas compras de artesanatos e souvenires, fazendo uma refeição nos restaurantes do Mercado, ou visitando o Elevador Lacerda e Pelourinho.

Elevador Lacerda

Primeiro elevador urbano do mundo, o Elevador Lacerda é um sistema de transporte público da cidade de Salvador. Faz o transporte das pessoas da Praça Cairu na Cidade Baixa, até a Praça Tomé de Souza na Cidade alta. Quando foi inaugurado em 8 de dezembro de 1873, era o elevador mais alto do mundo. A estrutura atual de 1930 tem 72 metros de altura. A parte de cima do elevador proporciona uma das vistas mais deslumbrantes da Baía de Todos os Santos. A tarifa para acessar esse famoso cartão postal é de 0,15 centavos. No roteiro do Salvador Bus, o Elevador Lacerda pode ser conhecido durante a parada de 2 horas do Mercado Modelo, sendo a maneira mais rápida e prática de chegar ao Pelourinho.

Pelourinho

O termo Pelourinho se refere a uma coluna de pedra localizada normalmente ao centro de uma praça, onde criminosos eram expostos e castigados. Porém, no Brasil Colônia, era usado principalmente para castigar escravos. Possui um conjunto arquitetônico colonial barroco brasileiro preservado, e integrante do patrimônio histórico da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, Ciência e Cultura. Com ruas características de paralelepípedo que contam com bares, restaurantes, lojas de souvenires e roupas afro baianas. Diversas igrejas importantes estão localizadas no Pelourinho, como a Catedral Basílica, a Igreja e Convento de São Francisco (famosa igreja de ouro), Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, Igreja do Santíssimo Sacramento do Passo (do filme O Pagador de Promessas), entre outras. Destacam- se também no Pelourinho a sede da primeira faculdade de medicina do Brasil que fica no Terreiro de Jesus, a Casa do Olodum, onde é possível comprar diversos artigos da famosa banda Olodum, a Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado no Largo do Pelourinho, e outros museus como a Casa do Carnaval, Museu Afro Brasileiro, Museu da Misericórdia, Memorial das Baianas, dentre outros. Da Praça Tomé de Souza, até o Santo Antônio Além do Carmo, não faltam opções de lazer, gastronomia e cultura para conhecer no Pelourinho. Dentro do nosso roteiro, a visitação ao Pelô pode ser feita durante a parada de 2 horas do Mercado Modelo.

Memorial de Irmã Dulce

Localizado no conjunto das Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce, o memorial foi inaugurado em 1993, um ano após a morte da freira baiana. O Memorial de Irmã Dulce é uma exposição permanente sobre o legado de amor e caridade do Anjo Bom do Brasil, reunindo mais de 800 peças que ajudam a preservar e manter vivos os ideais da religiosa. A visitação é acompanhada por um monitor do memorial que apresentará a vida e obra da primeira Santa mulher nascida no Brasil. O Memorial de Irmã Dulce é mais um ponto de parada do nosso roteiro, e tem duração aproximada de 20 minutos.

Igreja do Nosso Senhor do Bonfim

A Igreja Nosso Senhor do Bonfim é um templo católico localizado na Sagrada Colina, na península de Itapagipe, em Salvador. Sua construção teve início entre 1745 e 1746, finalizando suas obras internas em 1754 e externa em 1772 (com as torres). No gradil da igreja, tem-se o costume de amarrar as famosas fitinhas do Bonfim, que são feitas desde o início do século XIX com a medida do comprimento do braço direito até o peito da imagem do Senhor do Bonfim. É tombado desde 1985 e seu tombamento inclui também todo o seu acervo. A Igreja também é famosa pela festa da Lavagem do Bonfim. Este costume teve início em 1773 com os escravos efetuando a lavagem para os preparativos da festa do Senhor do Bonfim. Todos os anos na segunda quinta-feira do mês de janeiro após o dia de Reis, realiza-se a Lavagem do Bonfim, na escadaria da igreja, onde baianas lavam com água de cheiro e muita festa os seus degraus. Tudo começa com uma procissão desde a Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Praia, padroeira da Bahia, até ao Bonfim. A Igreja do Bonfim é o ultimo ponto de parada do nosso roteiro, e tem duração de 15 minutos.

Installed in Fort Santo Antônio in 1698 after the tragic shipwreck of Galeão Sacramento, the Lighthouse had a square shape, and a bronze lantern on top powered by whale oil. Its current masonry format is 22 meters high, and was inaugurated in 1839. In addition to the Lighthouse, the Fort of Santo Antônio da Barra also houses the Nautical Museum of Bahia, which is open every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The fee for visiting the Nautical Museum is R$ 15.00. Farol da Barra is one of the Salvador Bus stops, where the bus stays for 30 minutes.

Mercado Modelo

The current structure from 1930 is 72 meters high. the part of the top of the elevator provides one of the most breathtaking views of Baía de Todos os Santos. The fee to access this famous postcard is 0.15 cents. On the Salvador Bus route, the Lacerda Elevator can be known during the 2-hour stop at the Mercado Modelo, being the fastest and most practical way to get to Pelourinho.

The visit is accompanied by a monitor of the memorial that will present the life and work of the first female saint born in Brazil. The Sister Dulce Memorial is another stopping point on our route, and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Church

The Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Church is a Catholic temple located in Sagrada Colina, on the Itapagipe peninsula, in Salvador. Its construction began between 1745 and 1746, finishing its internal works in 1754 and external in 1772 (with the towers). On the church railing, it is customary to tie the famous Bonfim ribbons, which have been made since the beginning of the 19th century with the measurement of the length of the right arm to the chest of the image of Senhor do Bonfim. It has been listed since 1985 and its listing also includes its entire collection. The Church is also famous for the Lavagem do Bonfim festival. This custom began in 1773 with the slaves carrying out the washing for the preparations for the feast of Senhor do Bonfim. Every year on the second Thursday of January after Epiphany, the Lavagem do Bonfim takes place on the church steps, where baianas wash their steps with scented water and much festivity. It all starts with a procession from the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Praia, patron saint of Bahia, to Bonfim. The Bonfim Church is the last stop on our route, and it lasts 15 minutes.
